advanced computerized x-ray imaging system

Dexis Advanced Technology at Midwest Endodontic Specialists, LTDDIGITAL IMAGING

Our practice utilizes an advanced computerized x-ray imaging system. This highly sophisticated imaging system provides an immediate digital image of the tooth during treatment while dramatically reducing the amount of patient exposure to radiation. The patient’s reduction in radiation is upwards of 90% compared with conventional dental x-rays.

Additionally, the digital system is a wonderful teaching tool whereby the patient can actually see their tooth on a large flat panel screen. The days of a dentist holding a small 1.5 x 2 inch x-ray up to the ceiling light and trying to point out something to the patient are over!

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to dentists, other specialists, or insurance companies.

ZEISS® OPERATING MICROSCOPESZeiss

The introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of Endodontic Microsurgery. Our practice is equipped with surgical microscopes in every treatment room.

Zeiss® is the recognized world leader in advanced optics. The enhanced magnification and illumination of the operating microscope allows superior visualization of the finest detail in the tooth structure, thereby allowing us to perform the highly technical aspect of the endodontic treatment with the utmost precision. We have chosen to invest in the very best quality surgical microscopes.

Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details – you cannot treat what you cannot see. In addition, we have incorporated the latest high definition video allowing us to record our procedures with unequalled clarity and detail.

ULTRASONICSultrasonic

Ultrasonics are another technological advancement utilized in our office for the successful treatment of both surgical and non-surgical cases.

These sophisticated units use vibrational energy to remove posts and broken instruments, trough (search) for calcified (hidden) canals, and remove portions of pre-existing filling material.

Ultrasonic instruments are also used during microsurgical treatment. They are a wonderfully elegant addition to our technology.

NICKEL TITANIUM INSTRUMENTS

In our practice, instrumentation of the root canal is facilitated by files made of a unique alloy of Nickel-Titanium. They are extremely flexible allowing for efficiency in completing root canal therapy and improved clinical results of significantly curved canals.

ELECTRONIC APEX LOCATORS

The Electronic Apex Locator (EAL) is indispensable in achieving predictable root canal treatment. The incorporation of an Electronic Apex Locator allows accurate computer measurement of root canal length during endodontic treatment. This allows the procedure to be completed more quickly, more precisely, and further reduces the need for additional radiographs.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS INTEGRATION (ASI®) CARTS ASI

ASI® is a developer and manufacturer of unique dental delivery systems and instrument designs.  These sophisticated carts are designed for today’s most technologically advanced practices.

ASI combines all of the necessary dental instruments, disinfecting solutions, and filling materials into one elegant, integrated design. These dental instruments include heated endodontic irrigation, micro irrigation, titanium dental suction hand pieces and controllers for dental ultrasonic hand pieces and dental electric endodontic motors.

This is the truly state-of-the-art endodontics; we are the only office in the area that uses them!

CONE BEAM CT

When necessary, our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, small volume cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease.

This allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies (regular dental x-rays). Our office works closely with advanced diagnostic imaging partners whom will obtain the necessary images we request.

The judicious use of cone beam technology means our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality, patient care.
